The Road to Bartending: Part Uno

Kristin is currently taking a course to become a certified bartender. This will allow her to make some good money, and escape her previous employer before the insanity sets in.

Being the ever-so-supportive husband that I am, the tough job of evaluating the drinks she makes falls to me. After picking up the basics at the package store, we had our first taste testing round tonight. I would love to document the drinks via this blog if anyone is interested in duplicating these recipes at home. And I will try not to ramble on, as if I didn’t have a big buzz.

Tonights drinks (shake and serve chilled):

  1. Pink Squirrel (cream drink) – This was my favorite of the evening. The sweet taste of the almonds somehow made this taste like strawberry milk. Give this one a try!
    1. 1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao
    2. 1/2 oz Creme de Almond
    3. 2 oz cream (or half and half)
  2. B-53 (shooter) – A little rough when not chilled, this shooter left my mouth with a small burn.
    1. 3/4 oz each: Kalua, Baileys, Amaretto (layered for effect)
  3. Creamcicle (cream drink) – An amazing recreation of the taste of an Orange Dream ice cream. If you like the original, then this is for you
    1. 1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao
    2. 1/2 oz Triple Sec
    3. 1/2 oz Orange Juice
    4. 1 1/2 oz cream (or half and half)
  4. Mudslide (cream drink) – A lot like a White Russian, but with less coffee flavor, and more alcohol
    1. 1/2 oz Vodka
    2. 1/2 oz Baileys
    3. 1/2 oz Kalua
    4. 1 1/2 oz cream (or half and half)
