Well, we are both back from Texas for the funeral. Kristin’s folks decided to fly down and drive back for cost reasons. From Burmingham, the cost per ticket was $100 cheaper, so we drove to Alabama and flew the rest of the way. Needless to say that the drive back (all 15 hours) was not as interesting.
The funeral service was a two-parter, with the service on a different day than the burial. I never saw Maxine while she was still alive. The sadness of the situation was offset though by good company. We dined at Pappa Seitas which had freshly made tortillas, and salsas. Also, their Fajitas are made from the correct portion of the cow. What a concept! We hopped from relative’s house to relative’s house so I got to meet the family again. Everyone seemed concerned that I was being exposed to too much craziness too soon and I would be scared away. Well, I am still here, dispite Kristin’s mom’s stunning renditionin humming of “Yesterday” by the Beatles, and Claudio’s impression of Marilyn Monroe standing over an air vent holding her dress down. Great times (that I won’t let them forget!)
Kristin got her fill of Shipleys for a while, and Courtney her Jack-in-the-box, and Brenda her Whataburger. I can’t believe we don’t have these chains in Atlanta.
It will be nice to be back though, as the driving and meeting everyone can be pretty exausting. I am well rested, and look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow (at 8AM – I remembered!)
haha 8am… that was so funny until I realized you were serious 😦

I went to Vegas on vacation and they had an In/Out Burger there and I wanted to eat there so bad, but we had no car 😦 I guess I could have taken a cab and have my ride by 5x my meal cost, but I guess I wasn’t that desparate.
